Which AI engine has the most users in Brazil in 2026?
The current landscape of generative AI platforms in Brazil and what it means for your strategy
ChatGPT dominates the Brazilian generative AI market in 2026, with 310.67 million accesses recorded in August 2025 — approximately 99% of the market (Cadastra + Similarweb). Brazil is ChatGPT's third-largest global market, generating approximately 140 million messages per day for the platform (OpenAI, Aug/2025). For AIO strategies, this data is decisive: appearing on ChatGPT reaches virtually all Brazilian generative AI users.
ChatGPT's dominance in Brazil
Brazil has 44.9 million AI assistant users — a 61% annual growth rate (Comscore). Within this universe, ChatGPT concentrates a disproportionate share of time and engagement. The web access recorded in August 2025 places Brazil as the world's third-largest market, behind only the United States and India.
This concentration has a direct implication for AIO: ChatGPT's primary data source is Bing. Optimizing for Bing is, in practice, optimizing for the AI engine that dominates the Brazilian market. No other platform is close in volume.
Gemini: accelerated growth but still distant
Gemini — Google's AI assistant — recorded 501% growth in desktop accesses in Brazil in 2025 (Comscore). It's the most expressive growth among all platforms, driven by the launch of Gemini 2.0 and integration with the Google ecosystem (Gmail, Drive, Search).
Despite the growth, absolute volume is still much smaller than ChatGPT. The key difference is that Gemini uses Google's index as its source — which means optimizing for Gemini aligns with traditional SEO, not Bing.
Perplexity: exponential growth in the research segment
Perplexity recorded 2.01 million visits in Brazil in August 2025, with 131% growth in the period (Comscore). It's a fraction of ChatGPT's volume, but represents a specific and valuable audience: users who use AI for in-depth research, source comparison, and evidence-based decision-making.
Perplexity uses its own crawler (PerplexityBot) and prioritizes response clarity and explicit source citation. For companies with well-structured and citable content, Perplexity tends to cite frequently — and with direct links to the content.
Microsoft Copilot: presence via corporate ecosystem
Microsoft Copilot doesn't appear in web access statistics the same way ChatGPT does, but has relevant presence in the corporate environment: it's integrated into Windows 11, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Teams. In companies using the Microsoft ecosystem, Copilot is the default AI assistant.
Since it uses Bing as its foundation, optimizing for Copilot is the same as for ChatGPT — no additional effort required.
What this means for the AIO strategy in Brazil
The clear priority is ChatGPT + Copilot via Bing, followed by Gemini via Google and Perplexity via its own crawler. A complete AIO strategy covers all three channels:
- Bing: correct indexing, robots.txt allowed, IndexNow configured
- Google: solid technical SEO, E-E-A-T, AI Overview optimized
- Perplexity: content with direct answer, explicit citations, clear structure
